Auchroisk Distillery

The Speyside distillery Auchroisk was established in 1972 by Justerini & Brooks, and started production in 1974. The whisky was originally intended to be used in J&B blended scotch, but was actually first released as a single malt due to the high quality. Auchroisk is Gaelic for ‘shallow ford across the red stream’. The distillery is located near Dorie’s Well, a fresh water source whose discovery actually led to the creation of the distillery. Auchroisk has been in the hands of Diageo since 1997.
