Cameronbridge Distillery

Established in 1824, Cameronbridge is the oldest grain whisky distillery in Scotland – as well as the largest in Europe. It was founded by John Haig from the Haig distilling dynasty. Whereas most grain distilleries are in the Lowlands, Cameronbridge is officially only just located in the Highlands. The distillery was one of the founding members of the Distillers Company Ltd. (DCL) in 1877, which in time would evolve into Diageo. Cameronbridge has continuously been in operation, only closing briefly during the Second World War. Ever since the closure of Port Dundas in 2010, Cameronbridge is the last remaining active grain distillery owned by Diageo.
