Dufftown Distillery

The Dufftown distillery, located in the eponymous ‘Whisky Capital of the World’ in Speyside, was founded in 1895 by Peter Mackenzie, Richard Stackpole, John Symon and Charles Macpherson. Dufftown was one of the distilleries acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1933, together with Blair Athol. To this day, Dufftown whisky is one of the main components of Bell’s famous blended whisky. The distillery operated its own traditional floor maltings until 1968, when they were discontinued. Dufftown is currently owned by Diageo and is one of the company’s largest distilleries.
