Glendalough Distillery

Glendalough is an Irish craft distillery, founded in 2011 by a group of friends. The distillery’s logo portrays Saint Kevin, who is believed to have established the first abbot in the Glendalough valley. As the story goes, a blackbird once landed on St. Kevin’s hand while he was praying. St. Kevin proceeded to stand still for weeks to let the blackbird build its nest, and he did not move again until all the fledgelings had left the nest. The Glendalough Distillery draws inspiration from this story, reminding them that it takes patience to create something beautiful – like whiskey, which takes a very long time to mature.
