Glendullan Distillery

Glendullan is a distillery in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside. It was founded in 1896 by the blending company William Williams & Sons. Glendullan became the favourite whisky of King Edward VII in 1902, after it was delivered to the Royal Court. Macdonald Greenlees bought a share of the company in 1919, and Macdonald Greenlees & Williams Distillers was formed. Distillers Company Limited acquired Glendullan in 1926. They transferred it to their subsidiary, Scottish Malt Distillers, four years later. Glendullan underwent major refurbishing and reconstruction in 1962. In 1972, a new distillery was constructed next to the old one. They worked in tandem until 1985, when the original distillery closed.
