Glengoyne Distillery

The Highland distillery Glengoyne was established in 1833 under the name Burnfoot Distilleries. It was operated by the local farmer George Connell; the owners were the landowning Edmonstone family. The whisky merchant Lang Brothers bought the distillery in 1876 and changed the name to Glenguin, which became Glengoyne a couple of decades later. Glengoyne is currently in the hands of Ian Macleod Distillers, who acquired the distillery in 2003.
