Glenlochy Distillery

The Glenlochy distillery was founded in 1898 by David McAndie. It is located on the banks of River Nevis and at the foot of the Ben Nevis mountain. The distillery closed during the First World War and was reopened in 1937, when Train & MacIntyre Ltd. acquired the company. Distillers Company Ltd. took over in 1953, and mothballed Glenlochy in 1968. The distillery was modernized the following years, but closed after all in 1983. It was later converted into a hotel and restaurant. As most of Glenlochy’s spirit was produced for blends, no official bottlings were released during the distillery’s lifetime and independent bottlings remain rare.
