Glenugie Distillery

Glenugie was a distillery in the Scottish Highlands, founded in 1831. After only 6 years of producing whisky, Glenugie was converted into a brewery. From 1875 the distillery started intermittently distilling whisky again. Glenugie was sold to Seager Evans & Co in 1937, who in turn were acquired by Schenley in 1956. Production greatly increased in this period, but the distillery closed after all in 1983.
