Inchgower Distillery

Inchgower was founded in 1871 by Alexander Wilson & Co. in order to replace their old Tochineal Distillery. Alexander Wilson & Co. became bankrupt in 1936, and the Inchgower distillery was taken over by the Buckie Town Council. They sold it to Arthur Bell & Sons two years later. In 1966, they doubled the capacity to four stills. Arthur Bell & Sons was acquired in 1985 by Guinness, which today is part of Diageo. The majority of Inchgower’s production is used in Bell’s blended scotch.
