Israelian Whisky

The Israeli Whisky industry was kicked off in 2012 by Milk and Honey who have been pumping out their flavourful brand of Israeli Whisky from their Tel Aviv home at a very fast rate. This is due to Israel’s high temperatures and humidity which allows the whisky to mature relatively quickly in the barrel. Since then a number of other brands have popped up, including Golani based in the Golan Heights. This region has several types of wild barley and pure water coming from waterfalls up in Mount Hermon. Down in Jerusalem is Yerushalmi who produce two different types of peated Israeli Whisky. Clearly these guys are doing something right because in the five years to 2019 there has been a 25% growth in whisky volume in Israel.
