Kavalan Distillery

Taiwan is the world’s third largest market for single malt whisky, yet the country only has one distillery. This is because, until 2002, the Taiwanese government had a monopoly on producing alcohol. The Kavalan Distillery was established in 2005, making it the country’s first (and so far, only) private whisky distillery. Kavalan single malt has already won several awards, including Jim Murray’s ‘New Whisky of the Year’ and ‘World’s Best Single Malt Whisky’ at the World Whiskies Award.
