Knockdhu Distillery

The Speyside distillery Knockdhu was founded by Distillers Company Limited in 1893. They bought the land from John Morrison, who had discovered a high-quality water source perfect for distillation. Production started in October 1894. In 1930, DCL’s subsidiary Scottish Malt Distillers took over production. The distillery closed in March 1983. Inver House took over the distillery in 1988, and restarted production in February 1989. The first official Knockdhu bottling was released in 1990. In 2001, Pacific Spirits purchased Inver House Distillers. International Beverage Holdings acquired Pacific Spirits UK in 2006. Today, Knockdhu’s single malt is bottled under the name ‘anCnoc’, in order to avoid confusion with the similarly-named Knockando distillery.
