The Distillery Reserve Collection is an annual range of limited-edition whiskies from Chivas Brothers’ 13 distilleries. Cask 251744 is a single malt from the Speyside distillery Aberlour. It was distilled on 11 December 2006 and matured in first-fill butt #251744 for 13 years. It was bottled on 14 July 2020 at a cask strength of 60.9%, and originally sold exclusively at the Aberlour Distillery Visitor Centre. The Aberlour distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming, who previously worked at the Dailuaine distillery. At the time, Aberlour was the most modern distillery in Scotland, but it unfortunately was almost totally destroyed in a fire in 1898. The distillery was rebuilt swiftly, with the new buildings being designed by the famous distillery architect Charles Doig. Only 660 bottles of Aberlour 13 Years Old Distillery Reserve Collection Cask 251744 have been released.
