The Distillery Reserve Collection is an annual range of limited-edition single malts from Chivas Brothers’ 13 Scotch distilleries. Cask 90517 is a single cask malt from the Speyside distillery Aberlour. It was distilled on 2 December 2004 and matured in first-fill butt #90517 for more than 14 years. It was bottled on 1 May 2019 at a cask strength of 57%, and originally sold exclusively at the Aberlour Distillery Visitor Centre. Aberlour is a small distillery in the Scottish village of Aberlour, named after the wild mountain stream from which the distillery sources its water. The druids believed the Lour stream had magical powers and that its water had the ability to cure the sick. We’re not sure if it’s the water, but this Aberlour whisky definitely tastes magical. Only 288 bottles of Aberlour 14 Years Old Distillery Reserve Collection Cask 90517 2004 have been released.
