Please note, this Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 12 comes without a box
Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 12 is an early release in Aberlour’s legendary long-running batch series. A’Bunadh is Gaelic for ‘the original’, referring to a time capsule discovered at the distillery in 1975. The time capsule contained a bottle of whisky from 1898, which was sent to the lab to be analysed. The A’Bunadh series is Aberlour’s attempt to recreate this original single malt. Batch 12 aged in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts, and was bottled in 2004 at a cask strength of 60%. On the nose, Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 12 is soft and slightly smoky with aromas of fine sherry, ripe fruit, Christmas spices, sugar, mint and orange peel. The palate soft and creamy with rich flavours of dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, orange, coffee, red apples, Demerara sugar, caramel and oak. The finish is warming and slightly dry with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and oak.
