Alberta Springs Canadian Sipping Whisky 1953 is a rare vintage Canadian whisky, an early release – distilled 70 years ago! – from the makers of the 2021 World Whisky of the Year. Alberta Distillers was founded in 1946 by oil magnate Frank McMahon and rancher Max Bell. Because they didn’t know much about distilling whisky, they started to work together with the successful distiller George Reifel, who helped them grow the company. Located on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta Distillers is the largest producer of rye whisky in the world. The distillery is currently owned by Beam Suntory.
