About the Alberta Springs Old Time Canadian Whisky
Alberta Springs Old Time Canadian Whisky is a vintage Canadian sipping whisky, produced by Alberta Distillers Ltd. It is the ancestor of the award-winning Alberta Premium Cask Strength, recently named ‘World Whisky of the Year’. The year stated on Canadian tax strips is the year in which the youngest whisky in the bottle was distilled: in this case 1975, making this Alberta Springs Old Time Canadian Whisky a true old school beauty! Alberta Distillers was founded in 1946 by oil magnate Frank McMahon and rancher Max Bell. Because they didn’t know much about distilling whisky, they started to work together with the successful distiller George Reifel, who helped them grow the company. Located on the outskirts of Calgary, Alberta Distillers is the largest producer of rye whisky in the world. The distillery is currently owned by Beam Suntory. The Alberta Springs Old Time Canadian Whisky comes in its original wooden box.
