Angel’s Envy Cask Strength 2014 is the third release of Angel’s Envy’s celebrated cask strength, port finished bourbon. Initially matured in American white oak casks, the bourbon was finished in port wine barrels and bottled in 2014 at 119.3 proof. The elegantly-designed bottle, one of only 6500 in existence, comes in a red wooden presentation box. Angel’s Envy was founded by Wes Henderson, the son of late bourbon legend Lincoln Henderson. The first Angel’s Envy bottling was released in 2011. In early 2015, the company was acquired by Bacardi. Their new distillery, the Louisville Distilling Company, opened in November 2016. The brand’s name is a reference to the concept of angel’s share, the amount of spirit that evaporates during the maturation process. The whiskey that’s left is truly worthy of envy.
