Annandale 2015 Man O’Sword Cask #465 is a rare peated single cask whisky from the Lowland distillery Annandale. Annandale’s smoulderingly smoky peated expression, Man O’Sword, is inspired by Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland and the Seventh Earl of Annandale. This 2015 vintage matured in a fresh ex-bourbon cask, and is bottled at 58.3%. The result is an initial burst of fresh green apples and aromas of tropical fruits, caramel and vanilla, before smouldering peat takes over. On the palate, you’ll find a combination of sweet caramel and peat smoke, with lingering melon, mango and oak shavings. The finish is wonderfully warming and sweet at the same time.
