Appleton Estate 37 Years Old Hearts Collection 1984 is a 100% pot still rum from the Appleton Estate in Jamaica. The rum was distilled in 1984 and aged for 37 years. In 2021, 1800 bottles were drawn from casks #3991 through #3399. The Appleton Estate is located in the Nassau Valley, in the southwest of Jamaica. It is one of the oldest businesses on the island, and has been producing rum continuously since 1749. The story goes that the sugarcane plantation was founded in 1655 by Sir Francis Dickenson, an English soldier from the village of Appleton. It is said he received 6,000 acres of land in Jamaica as a reward for his role in helping the English conquer the island from the Spanish. Today, the Appleton Estate is part of Italian spirits company Gruppo Campari and produces a whopping 10 million litres of rum each year.
