Ardbeg 18 Years Old Signatory Vintage Straight From The Cask 1998 Cask #1776 is a rare independent bottling of single cask Ardbeg, released to celebrate the 60th anniversary of La Maison du Whisky. The whisky was distilled on 18 June 1998 and matured for 18 years in first-fill bourbon barrel #1776. It was bottled on 18 August 2016 straight from the cask at 56.6%. Ardbeg 18 Years Old Signatory Vintage Straight From The Cask 1998 Cask #1776 has a refined nose with a fruity and salty character. It opens with assertive peat before turning to aromas of fresh fruit, citrus and salt. The nose then becomes more medicinal and earthy, revealing notes of camphor, iodine, ginger, damp earth and cloves. On the palate you’ll find flavours of sea spray, earth, salt, curry, cardamom and Turkish delight. The finish is long with lingering vanilla, chocolate, malted barley and peat.
