This is the 2021 edition of the Ardbeg 25 Years Old, which saw its first release in 2020. The smokey and peaty punch has not been lost during the long maturation process, the good folks at Ardbeg promise. Ardbeg 25 Years Old comes in a gun-metal (that’s marketing language for shiny and grey) bottle and a sturdy box with a nifty opening on the top that resemble a metal cage. The distillery tasting notes include smoked cream, bonfires, pine and fragrant candle wax, mixed with hot pepper twists around sherbet lemon sweetness. And some tiny hints of tar. Tar! Just the way we like in our Islay single malt whisky. Please note: due to the weight, this bottle takes up three spaces in a parcel. The Ardbeg 25 Years Old 2021 Release was distilled during the 1990s, when Ardbeg Distillery only produced a trickle of new make every year.
