Ardbeg 26 Years Old Cadenhead 1994 is a single cask Ardbeg malt, released by Cadenhead for the Authentic Collection. The whisky was distilled in 1994 and matured in a bourbon hogshead for 26 years. It was bottled in spring 2021 at a cask strength of 47.4%. Ardbeg is a distillery on the south coast of Islay. The first record of a distillery at the site was in 1794, but the current distillery was founded in 1815 by John MacDougall. It initially mainly produced whisky for blends, but gained renown as a single malt, too. Hiram Walker closed the distillery in March 1981. Production restarted in 1989 on a limited basis. Ardbeg was sold to Glenmorangie in 1997, who fully reopened the distillery. Only 210 bottles of Ardbeg 26 Years Old Cadenhead 1994 have been released.
