But while the characteristic peat is usually balanced by a floral fruitiness, this limited-edition release for Fèis Ìle 2023 is the most full-blown Ardbeg ever: Ardbeg Heavy Vapours 2023 was distilled without a purifier, allowing the heaviest and untamed vapours to rise during the distillation process. The familiar harmony has been disrupted, resulting in a captivating dram with pungent earthy aromas, dark chocolate and sharp peppermint. Bold flavours of aniseed, powdery cinnamon and tangy menthol linger on the palate.
