If you look closely at this bottle of Arran 14 Years Old, just above the label you’ll see two eagles imprinted on the glass. Back when the distillery was being built in the early 1990s, two golden eagles decided to fly down and check out what was going on. While they were nesting, construction works had to be halted, but eventually they left for long enough that the building could be completed. Most years they still return to nest and to keep an eye on things and sometimes they even show off with a little aerial display during big events. Arran 14 Years Old has a nose of vanilla, coffee, tropical fruit and smooth bourbon aromas. The palate is nice and buttery with orange, apricot, coconut and toffee. The finish is beautifully long.
