Auchentoshan (Gaelic for ‘corner of the field’) is located near Glasgow. The distillery was founded in 1823 by local corn merchant John Bulloch, and today is part of the Japanese spirits giant Suntory. Auchentoshan 21 Years Old matured gracefully for over twenty years in American bourbon and Spanish sherry casks. The result is a complex and refined single malt with a sweet and fruity character. The nose opens with aromas of ripe gooseberries, creamy vanilla, freshly-cut barley and a hint of oak. The palate is smooth and brings flavours of light chocolate, green fruit, old oak and honey, leading to a long-lasting finish.
