German independent bottler Sansibar has been in the whisky game since 2012. Their single cask bottlings of rare Scotch whiskies quickly gained them renown. Auchentoshan 24 Years Old JD’s Personal Choice 1998 has been personally selected by Jens Drewitz, managing director of Sansibar. The whisky matured for 24 years in a single bourbon cask, which yielded just 151 bottles in 2022. Auchentoshan (Gaelic for ‘corner of the field’) is a distillery located near Glasgow. It was founded in 1823 by local corn merchant John Bulloch, and today is part of the Japanese spirits giant Suntory.
