Auchroisk 12 Years Old The Ultimate 2010 is a rare single cask whisky from the Auchroisk distillery, released by Dutch independent bottler for the renowned The Ultimate range. The Speyside single malt was distilled on 29 September 2010 and matured for 12 years in a bourbon hogshead. It was bottled in April 2023 at 46%. In 1972, Justerini & Brooks founded the Auchroisk distillery with the intention of producing malt whisky for their J&B blend. However, the distillery’s whisky was of such a high quality that it was actually first released as a single malt. It was marketed under the name ‘The Singleton’ because the distillery’s name was deemed too difficult for non-Scottish consumers. This prefix would later be reserved for Diageo’s Dufftown, Glen Ord and Glendullan distilleries.
