About the Balvenie A Day Of Dark Barley (26 Years Old)
In 1992, a batch of dark, roasted barley was delivered at the Balvenie distillery by accident. Heavily roasted barley is normally used in the production of stout beer, but master distiller David Stewart decided to experiment with it. The first of these Roasted Malts was released in 2006. This 26-year-old Dark Barley single malt is a further-matured version of the whisky distilled back in 1992. It is the third release in the Balvenie Stories collection, a series of special malts inspired by generations of stories at Balvenie. The audio story accompanying this bottle is available on Balvenie’s website.
