It’s a showcase of Balvenie Malt Master David Stewart’s whisky magic and the last installment of the Tun 1509 series. The Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch No. 8 is a marriage of four ex-bourbon barrels, six second-fill sherry butts, five refill puncheons and three first-fill sherry butts, so it’s quite the polyamorous relationship! The famed Tun is, in the words of The Balvenie, ‘a large oak marrying vessel that sits proudly in Warehouse 24’.
