The Connoisseurs Choice range is apptly named, as the whiskies that came out under this Gordon & Macphail label are truly connoisseur single malts. It goes without saying that this Banff 1974-1992 Connoisseurs Choice is no exception. Banff closed its doors permanently in 1983 when demand for whisky was declining. Their buildings have been demolished and destroyed by a fire, so Banff really is whisky history. Did you know the Germans even bombed their distillery in WOII? Bastards! This single malt was distilled in 1974 and bottled roughly 18 years later, in 1992. How on earth no one was tempted enough to drink it since then is baffling for sure, but you can be thankful to everyone that did not drink it, as you will have the chance now!
