Barbados is considered the birthplace of rum. The distillation of rum started here in the 1640s, after sugarcane had been introduced from Dutch Brazil. Barbados 8 Years Old Rum Nation 2002 is a limited-edition rum from the West Indies Rum Distillery, the largest distillery on the island. It was distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2010 by Italian independent bottler Rum Nation. This young rum is sweet, fresh and sunny with pleasant aromas and notes of chinotto, coffee, bitter chocolate, fresh mint, cloves and pepper.
