Basil Hayden’s 8 Year Old Whiskey is a lovely classic Jim Beam bourbon, aged for 8 years and bottled at a gentle 80 proof. Basil Hayden Sr. was one of the earliest distillers in Kentucky. He started production in 1796, when the state was just four years old. His grandson, Raymond B. Hayden, named the famous Old Grand-Dad bourbon brand after him. When Jim Beam introduced a new small batch bourbon in 1992, they named it after this pioneer of Kentucky whiskey.
