Ben Bracken 27 Years Old is a single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery (rumoured to be Caol Ila), bottled by Wallace & Young Distillers Co. for German convenience store giant Lidl. The whisky was distilled in 1990 and matured in oak casks for 27 years, before being bottled in 2017 at 46%. Ben Bracken is the award-winning brand of single malts sold semi-exclusively by Lidl. They first started releasing Ben Bracken some years ago and gained worldwide attention, as people could not believe that they were selling single malt whisky aged for so long for so cheaply. Same goes for this 27-year-old Islay gem, naturally!
