The Benchmark brand was introduced in the late 1960s by Seagram’s. It was originally produced at the Four Roses Distillery, and has been distilled at Buffalo Trace ever since Sazerac took over the brand in 1989. The premium bourbon is known today as McAfee’s Benchmark, named after Hancock McAfee, one of the first European settlers who arrived at the site where Buffalo Trace stands today. We estimate this Benchmark Single Barrel XO was bottled in the 1980s, meaning it was most likely distilled at the Four Roses Distillery. It comes om a pretty wooden box.
