Jörmungandr, also known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent, is a gigantic monster from Norse mythology. Jörmungandr is said to be the middle child of the god Loke and the jötunn Angrboða. He grew so enormous that he encircled the entire world, biting his own tail. Prophecies foretold that when Jörmungandr releases his tail, Ragnarök, the end of the world, will begin. Bivrost Jörmungandr is the second limited release in the mysterious new Loke series from Aurora Spirit, the northernmost distillery in the world. Like the Norse trickster god Loke himself, the series is unpredictable and playful, with releases popping up when you least expect. Bivrost Jörmungandr is partially distilled from special Arctic barley, grown near the distillery in Northern Norway. The single malt has been matured in sherry casks and a bold, unconventional cask pairing: Premier Cru Bordeaux and Crème Brulée, delivering a sweet and floral nose, a rich body with a smooth mouthfeel and notes of dried fruits, and a long finish.
