Blair Athol 12 Years Old Thompson Bros is a unique multi-vintage Highland single malt from the Blair Athol distillery, released by independent bottler Thompson Bros. The whisky has been drawn from two ex-bourbon casks: a refill barrel from 2006 and a refill hogshead from 2011. After ageing for a minimum of 12 years, the casks were married in September 2023 and bottled at 50%. On the nose, expect aromas of fresh brie, lime zest, wine gums, lemongrass, fresh parsley, cask char, spearmint, clove and aromatic brining water. Lots of zesty lime follows on the palate, joined by notes of gummy bears, clove, spearmint, orange blossom, rosewater and a hint of lavender. The finish brings mellow spice, cask char, brine, lime zest and clove. Only 547 bottles of this one-of-a-kind dram have been released.
