The Blanton Distilling Company was founded at Buffalo Trace in 1984, making this 1985 Singe Barrel Original an extremely rare and early one! Fun fact: Blanton’s was the very first commercial bourbon brand that released Singe Barrel Bourbon. And another fun fact: the apostrophe and the S in the name Blanton’s were added in the mid-1990s, which is why the label of this 1985 release reads Blanton Distilling Company. Fun fact #3: the famous bottle stopper letters that spell out the brand’s name (if you choose to collect them all), were only introduced in 1999. This release, that was dumped on 7-23-1985, comes in a cardboard box with a see through plastic panel. A box like that is about as rare as the whiskey itself. It also comes with a Blanton’s Satchel and Booklet. On the bottle you’ll find a State of Wisconsin tax sticker, which is quite uncommon on a Blanton(‘s), since such tax-stickers were discontinued in 1985 in the US. Please note: the wax has a hairline crack.
