Why is it that the Japanese always get the best Blanton’s you ask? Well, they own the brand (no, Sazerac does not own Blanton’s). That is why they got epic bottlings like the Sterling Silver and many others, like this Takara Gold, named after the brand owner Takara Shuzo, who acquired Blanton’s in 1992. Somehow they do not only get the rare ones, even the standard bottlings have aged not six, but eight years. This is also the case with this Blanton’s Gold, which comes in a fancy purple satchel and a shiny golden box. The bottle comes in a distinct red wax as well that is a bit more fragile.
