This Bowmore was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 1999. It is bottle is number 190, out of 901 bottles. All bottles in the Samaroli/Moon Import range are bottled at 45% ABV.
Legendary Italian bottling company Moon Import was founded in 1980 by Pepi Mongiardino, who started importing Bruichladdich and later Tamnavulin and Tullibardine too. Mongiardino looked for brands that did not have an Italian importer yet and bought their casks to bottle under his own label. In the eighties, when the Scottish whisky industry was in the midst of a big crisis, he took a big risk, but then again… the most amazing casks were up for the taking! We wish we were around in these days!
Pepi Mongiardino worked together with famous Italian importer Silvano Samaroli. The Dreams Series was a 1999 collaborative effort between the two friends, a once in a lifetime project. All bottles in the range depict dream-like artworks of clouds, balloons, kites – all designed by Nadia Pini and artist Hans Piu. All bottles have Samaroli’s signature printed on the tube.
We love the looks of these old ones, even though the typography that was used reminds us of the old school MS WordArt that was popular in the 1990s. Nothing wrong with that, as this range came out in 1999!
