Bowmore 22 Years Old Moonlight Blue Ceramic

Bowmore 22 Years Old Moonlight is a rare single malt from the 1990s that comes in a stunning blue ceramic bottle. The Bowmore distillery is linked to an ancient legend about Loch Indaal. When the Scots spread from their Irish homeland to create the kingdom of Dalriada, the Pictish and Brythonic tribes resisted fiercely and a war followed. Cara, the daughter of the Pictish king, fell in love with a captured Scottish warrior and helped him escape. Together they fled towards the Scotman’s home on the shores of Loch Indaal, but a terrible storm caused their boat to crash against the rocks. Except for the wreckage of the boat, no trace of the lovers was ever found. But a pair of white gulls now soared together across the Loch, settling neither on the western nor the eastern shore, as if torn between the two. To this day, the gulls fly ceaselessly above Loch Indaal, on the shores of which the Bowmore distillery lies. Bowmore 22 Years Old Moonlight Blue Ceramic has a sweet and complex nose with aromas of vanilla, flowers, blossom honey, raspberry, coconut, banana peel, sea salt and a hint of smoke. The palate is soft and creamy with vanilla, coconut, lemon tart, sea salt toffee and a touch of smoke. The finish is long and pleasantly warming with lingering floral notes and subtle smoke.
