Bowmore likes to do things the traditional way. Being the oldest distillery on Islay they worked out long ago what techniques are needed to make the best single malts and they’re not up for changing it now. In fact they’re one of the few distilleries left in Scotland that malts its own barley! The hand filled bottles are an extremely special, very exclusive bottling only available from the distillery. So that visitors could get in on the action, Bowmore would let whisky lovers hand fill their very own bottle of whisky using a traditional valinch, just like they’ve been doing at Bowmore for hundreds of years. How cool is that! The cask that filled this particular bottle was filled in 1995 and the whisky was aged for 24 years in the famous No. 1 Vaults, Bowmore’s old stone warehouse on the shore of Loch Indaal. These bottles aren’t available in shops so this is one very unique, very exclusive drop of Bowmore. The bottle comes with a drawstring cloth carry-bag.
