Bowmore 27 Years Old Port Cask The Vintner’s Trilogy is the third release in Bowmore’s grape-inspired Vintner’s Trilogy series. The whisky first aged for 13 years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by 14 years in port pipes. The result is a beautiful deep mahogany liquid with a perfect balance of sweet, spice, salt and peat smoke. The nose is peaty and medicinal with aromas of toffee, heather, rosemary, old port wine, raspberry coulis and red berries. On the palate you’ll find notes of sweet sugarplums, salted caramel, sultanas, leather and pepper. The finish has hints of tobacco, salted dates, dried herbs and white pepper. A stunning tribute to the power of wine cask maturation.
