For the Warehouse Diamonds range, German indie bottler Malts of Scotland searches for the finest casks hidden away in the warehouses of Scottish distilleries and bottles them up as extremely limited releases. Bowmore Malts Of Scotland Warehouse Diamonds 1987-2017 Cask #17014 was distilled in 1987 and matured for three decades in refill sherry butt #17014. It was bottled in 2017 at a cask strength of 51.3%. The nose is bold with layers of peat smoke and sweetness. Sherried aromas of dark fruit, leather, tobacco leaves, raisins, toffee, cinnamon and nutmeg are balanced by cold ash, lemon, salt and tropical fruits. The palate has an oily mouthfeel, with intense smokiness and notes of dark chocolate, raisins, orange peel, blackberries, herbal honey, liquorice, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long with lingering sweet, smoky and woody notes.
