Bowmore Vault Edition First Release Atlantic Sea Salt is the first in a series dedicated to Bowmore’s famous No. 1 Vaults, which are located below sea level and have a unique microclimate created by the warehouse’s proximity to the sea. This first edition focuses on the distinctive sea salt notes brought by the sea spray that washes against the sea-facing wall of the vaults. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks and was bottled in 2016 at 51.5%. The result is a single malt with remarkable depth and aromas of sun-ripened fruits and sea. Flavours of salted honeycomb, spiced cocoa and iodine-soaked blood orange drench the palate, while the never-ending finish has hints of blackberry, sea salt and kumquat.
