Bruichladdich 10 Years Old Oloroso 1998 is a limited-edition sherried single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. The whisky was distilled in July 1998 and matured for 10 years in Oloroso sherry casks, before being bottled in July 2008 at 46%. You might be thinking, wasn’t Bruichladdich closed during the 1990s? It was: the distillery was mothballed between January 1995 and May 2001. But for just six weeks in 1998, spirit flowed off the stills at Bruichladdich again, and that is when this whisky was produced. The Bruichladdich distillery didn’t fully reopen until 2001. Only 9000 bottles of this rare and tasty Islay single malt were released.
