About the Bruichladdich 1985/32 – Bourbon: Hidden Glory
The Bruichladdich 1985/32 – Hidden Glory is the second of three releases in the Bruichladdich Rare Cask Series, next to the 1984/32 – Bourbon: All In and the 1986/30 – The Magnificent Seven. Head distiller ad Bruichladdich, Adam Hannett, describes them as ‘The last of their kind’. They matured for over 30 years, making these whiskies as a testament of days long forgotten, from a time where single malt whisky certainly did not have the status it has now. Three generations of distillers have kept a watchfull eye over these beauties. This 1985 Bruichladdig whisky was originally filled into third fill Bourbon casks, until master distiller Jim McEwan discovered it in 2012. So that’s why they called it Hidden Glory! He re-casked it into fresh bourbon casks and in 2017 it finished in French oak from one of the greatest French Chateaux. A release of 4,200 bottles.
