The celebrated French whisky importer La Maison du Whisky celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006. In honor of this occasion, Buffalo Trace released a special single barrel bourbon. Barrel #435 was bottled in 2006 at 90 proof. La Maison du Whisky was founded in 1956 by Georges Bénitah. It grew to be one of the largest whisky companies in Europe, distributing Scotch and Japanese whiskies, as well as collaborating with distilleries from all over the world to create unique bottlings for the French Connections range.
