This 18-year-old (!) Zinfandel Wine Cask Finish whiskey is part of Buffalo Trace’s Experimental Collection. The distillery is constantly experimenting to make their whiskey even better, and once in a blue moon they release some of these hidden gems. Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Zinfandel Aged After 10 Years was distilled in April 1988 and spent its first 10 years in New Charred American Oak before being transferred into an American Oak Zinfandel cask. It was bottled on 23 February 2007 at 45% ABV. Because it was finished in a wine cask, the whiskey is officially not allowed to be called a bourbon.
