Bushmills 28 Years Old Malaga Casks The Causeway Collection is a 28-year-old Irish whiskey from the Bushmills distillery. It was distilled on 6 April 1992 and matured in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks for 15 years. The whiskey was then transferred to Malaga barrels from southern Spain, where it stayed until it was bottled in 2020 at a cask strength of 53.6% for The Causeway Collection, a series of rare single malts from Bushmills. The collection’s name refers to ‘The Giant’s Causeway’, a natural phenomenon in Northern Ireland that was created after a volcanic eruption more than 50 million years ago. According to folklore, the causeway was built by the giant Fionn mac Cumhaill. Only 698 bottles of Bushmills 28 Years Old Malaga Casks The Causeway Collection have been released.
